I understand it's a plug in hybrid so you're not reliant completely on the batteries but I still don't understand how they're going to be able to justify the starting price of $136k when a Model S starts at $70k. I know they're different vehicles I just think it's overpriced for what it is.

Carbon fiber vs aluminum construction contributes a bit. Also, Tesla can't go around asking 100k for their car, they aren't established. BMW is, they can charge whatever they please.

Hell as I understand it there are wait lists out the door on this car already.

This car squares up nicely against the 911 and Vantage V8 and what not, its sitting in a competitive market of its own and it'll do just fine.
